ABOUT

Our story

Kerala Yoga is a Hatha-based yoga community, established in 2020 by Arun Sukumaran and Adoor Venu. Our mission is to serve diverse communities across the city and globally through our online videos. We aim to help yoga students build strength, balance, and flexibility while finding inner peace and harmony with others. Our philosophy centers on addressing the individual needs of each student. Whether teaching large groups, small classes, or one-on-one sessions, we strive to make everyone feel welcome, valued, and safe enough to step out of their comfort zone and explore deeply within.

Kerala Yoga IS ABOUT

Connection

Kerala Yoga focuses on connection—connecting to our true selves, to those around us, and to our beautiful planet in need of care. Yoga enhances our ability to feel and live more connected, enabling us to act more compassionately towards everyone and everything we encounter. It brings us closer to our nature of kindness and understanding, helping us share the boundless life force within us.
At Kerala Yoga, we celebrate a variety of Hatha Yoga styles (Hatha, Flow, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and more) and meditation, welcoming practitioners of all levels. Everyone has a unique path, and as teachers, we rejoice in the progress our students make both on and off the mat. We also lovingly support them through any setbacks with grace.
Yoga is about creating union, relieving suffering, and seeking freedom for our bodies and souls. We invite you to cultivate strong, vibrant, and healthy bodies while working towards creativity, happiness, and tranquility of mind. We dedicate much time and effort to our teaching spaces, striving to create environments where participants feel at ease.

What is yoga like at Amsterdam Yoga Collective?

Hatha Yoga combines poses (asanas), breath practice (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana). At Kerala Yoga, we are deeply rooted in the ancient traditions of yoga and its proven effectiveness in enhancing overall health and wellbeing. We take joy in uniting diverse individuals—youths, adults, singles, couples, and families—through our wide variety of classes. Our love for yoga is evident in everything we do. You are always welcome here; we have a spot waiting just for you!
