CLASSES

Classes we teach

We provide a diverse range of yoga classes for both newcomers and seasoned practitioners. Each class lasts between 60 to 75 minutes and welcomes all skill levels. Our schedule is always expanding and evolving, reflecting our own growth and transformation!
Power Hatha
This class follows the traditional structure of Hatha yoga, focusing on alignment, strength, flexibility, and calmness for both body and mind. It incorporates deep breathing techniques, working extensively with body locks (bandhas). Hatha yoga benefits the internal organs, nervous system, and lymphatic system. Be ready for a challenge! After warming up with several rounds of classical surya namaskar (sun salutations), we move on to advanced poses like side crow, eka-pada koundinyasana, forearm balances, and handstands. If you’re an experienced practitioner looking to advance, this class is perfect for you!
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga poses are designed to stretch and heal your connective tissues, providing deep stretches that enhance your range of motion and clear energetic pathways. In Yin Yoga, we focus on the ligaments, tendons, and bones, often referred to as the ‘white matter’ of the body. Although challenging, these poses create a calming effect and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting a natural ‘rest and digest’ state. Poses are held for up to 5 minutes, with an emphasis on breath and relaxation. After class, you’ll feel flexible, content, and confident. Yin Yoga is suitable for all levels, with modifications provided by the teacher as needed.
Flow & Breathwork
Breathwork pranayama, one of the five pillars of yoga according to Swami Sivananda, is essential for a complete yoga experience. That’s why these classes begin with pranayama techniques, such as alternate nostril breathing, breath of fire, or deep cellular restorative breathing. Once breathwork is complete, get ready to move! We transition into a flow, focusing on synchronizing breath with movement, building heat, strength, and flexibility. Expect to tackle challenging postures, including balancing poses, inversions, and backbends. Some yoga experience and a maintained physical condition are recommended for this class. Each session concludes with a well-deserved guided savasana (final relaxation)
Gentle Flow & Yoga Nidra
This class offers a calming, stress-relieving experience designed to gently stretch and gradually strengthen the body. Emphasis is placed on building awareness of breath and body. Postures (asanas) are practiced at a slower pace, with careful attention to alignment and detail. This gentle practice is an excellent preparation for Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, where you are guided into a deep state of relaxation comparable to a full hour of regular sleep. Expect to leave the class feeling relaxed and calm. It’s perfect for students at all levels seeking a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience.
Restorative Yoga
This is a gentle class where we use props like blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps to support the body, allowing you to fully relax in each pose. Designed for maximum comfort and held for extended periods, these poses are perfect for those looking to slow down, relieve stress, and calm the mind, as well as those recovering from injuries. This practice is also beneficial for people suffering from insomnia, promoting deep sleep. With the support of props, you can release tension and negative thoughts, easing stiffness from the body. This deep restorative practice nourishes the mind, body, and spirit, making it suitable for everyone, even complete beginners!
Traditional Hatha
This class follows the traditional practices established over 120 years ago in India by the great spiritual leader and medical practitioner, Swami Sivananda, who unified various ancient yoga traditions. Each session begins with initial relaxation, incorporating ancient breathing exercises to calm the nervous system, followed by several rounds of classical sun salutations. We then move into classical strengthening and relaxation poses, with an emphasis on Sthira Sukham Asanam (comfortable steady pose). Every class concludes with a guided full-body relaxation, known as savasana.
Kids Yoga
Did you know that kids who have practiced with us simply love it? They enjoy becoming stronger, more flexible, and balanced while feeling free and building confidence. They use their imagination by imitating animals, which adds fun to the practice. Kids also learn to trust themselves and take their first steps in calming their active minds. This gives them tools to manage anger, boredom, and sadness, especially during challenging times. After class, they’ll feel happier, more content, and focused.
Hatha Yoga & Meditation
This class represents the most traditional form of yoga taught in our studio. Postures are practiced to align, strengthen, and promote flexibility in both body and mind. Hatha yoga incorporates breathing techniques and benefits the internal organs, nervous system, and lymphatic system. Emphasizing simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement, this class alternates challenging poses with relaxing ones. Hatha Yoga guides you toward full-body relaxation and balance by moving through a complete circuit of standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers. The silent meditation at the end promotes inner peace and acceptance, embodying yoga as it is truly meant to be.

INSTRUCTIONS

First time yoga with us?

For many people, yoga can seem intimidating if they’ve never tried it before. You might picture a group of young adults in tight leggings, shirtless men, stretching, chanting, and twisting into pretzel-like shapes. While we do welcome such individuals, we are open to everyone! All you need for your first class is an open mind and a willingness to let go of any preconceived notions.
People often tell us they feel they’re not flexible enough for yoga. We respond that saying this is like claiming you’re too dirty to take a bath. Yoga is for everyone: from seniors to kids, men to women, and everyone in between. Just remember to be clean and remove your shoes and socks before entering the room.
Please arrive 5 minutes before the class starts.
